OK ... I'll make a list of who, where and which census ... it'll take me a while, especially as I'm about to eat breakfast !

it seems tha they were not all regsitered South Stoneham which would make the search for missing children more difficult.
i have found Rose Ellen in the index, she was registered in Poole (Q2 1867 5a 279)

John Williams was an ag. lab ... what else ... and moved around for every census and every birth !!

 OK Lydart....will be patient.....we definitely need the censuses.  I have just found the 1891 census and see the children were born in different places, some of them in Hampshire.

hi, yes just found the 1871 census

RG10 1977 46 15

Isaac is the eldest child,  but there could have been others that died in childhood,
Isaac birth place is given as Southampton.

then we have Rose E age 3 b. Kinson Wimborne 9which ties in witht eh Poole registration)   and Mary J, 2 months b. Spetisbury Dorset

Henry George was registered Dec Qtr 1883  in the district of  
N.Forest  2b/691

N.Forest includes Minstead which was given as his place of birth in 1891.

 And Elizabeth's is in  S. Stoneham  Jun Qtr 1877 2c/43

Her birthplace in 1891 was Peartree Green, Hampshire.

Herbert's  =  Jun Qtr 1886 in Poole. 5a/289

Sarah Louisa's ....and it is in the index as Louisa.....Sep Qtr 1881  in the district of Winchester 2c/123

what the ref for this census? are all the children on it?

Dee, i thought that if they were registered in the same place then you could look at the BMD index to find children deaths in between census and possibly attribute them to this couple - unless of course there was another Williams family in the same area also producing offspring at the same time,
but as they moved around (probably due to work oppourtunites) that has blown this plan right out of the window.
