Thanks for that.  There is also loads of stuff online - just found the details of the house my grandfather grew up in when it was auctioned in 1897.  Cheers and Happy New Year  Jan

I paid for research with Luton and Beds Archives and they were very professional and thorough. I paid for two hours research and received census entries, maps, birth and marriage entries from parish records and I was very impressed by their prompt reply and attention to detail.

I cannot get to the record office myself, so I was delighted with their findings.
