Is there anybody out there researching these names Alexander Holmes and Janet Swanston Alexander lived in Heiton Janet we think from Kelso They married around 1840 first child Mary Holmes 1841. Any info greatly appreciated. Jen.

I am trying to find a marriage of Alexander Holmes & Janet Swanston they certainly had plenty children, I am a descendant of them, I am also quite intrigued by your name I am sure you will know why.  Are you to descended from them? The Roxburgh Parish records seemed to be incomplete for this period. I am missing quite a lot of Births and Marriages for this period.  I have read the film and there is not much on it. I don't have a date either, 
but I have read the Kirk session records and they got their name on that for Anti-nuptual Irregular Marriage in 1840
Alex.was living at Staindykes in 1838 , Alex. mother, brother & sister are living at Roxburgh in 1841 Census. Janet's father was also at Roxburgh but she may have born in Stitchill, and moved to Roxburgh Her father and mother had most of their children  in Stitchill
My husband and I are both connected to the Holmes family. He is connected to Alex and Janets daughter Margaret and I am connected to one of Alex's brothers family. I have a lot of information of them.
Alexanders' mothers name on his death certificate is incorrect. All his siblings born before and after give the mother as Margaret Burns
Where else would you want to grow up?
