William Willis Tynemouth

Hi

Can anyone help please?

Ive got a William Willis (? - 1838) married to Isabella (1781 - 1860ish) .  They have children Thomas 1825 and Charles 1821.  As the children seem to be born so late, it could be possible that they had a previous family, possibly with a different partner?

Any ideas ?

Hi,

I take it you mean you have Isabella with Charles and Thomas on the 1841 and 1851 census for Tynemouth. She was born Lamesley Durham according to 1851 and the sons were born North Shields
Have you looked for their baptisms to find both parents' names?
On the IGI website there is a Charles Willis born 3 May 1821 St. Andrews  Camden St Independent, Tynemouth, parents William Willis and Babella (so possibly Isabella) and there's also a marriage for a William Willis to Isabella Watson 18 Aug 1811, Gateshead, Durham which might fit.

So they may be the youngest children of the family, not necessarily from a different marriage

There is an Isabella Watson baptised Lamesley 2 Feb 1781 d/o Edward.

Then at Tynemouth Christ Church:

William Henry Willis born 4 June 1812 baptised 23 Aug 1812 1st son of William Willis of North Shields, Joiner, native of Westburn parish by his wife Isabella Watson native of Lamesley

Mary Willis baptised 18 Sept 1814 d/o William and Isabella (Milbourn Place)
Edward Willis baptised 1 May 1816 s/o William and Isabella (North Shields)
Phillis Willis baptised 30 Aug 1818 d/o William and Isabella (Bedford Street)

William was a joiner on those last three baptisms also.

Burial Tynemouth Christ Church:

William Willis age 52, Bedford Street, 27 March 1838

WOW - thanks Janis.

This is definately them - I think most of my family lived in Bedford Street, North Shields over the years.  Dont know if it was/is a big street, but theyve all been there!

I don't know where Westburn parish is or part of what parish?  Maybe Michael knows 

Now you have an approximate year of birth for William also. ~1786
