there is a GENUKI page about Biscathorpe: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/Biscarthorpe/

with this information about "manors":

Biscathorpe House, sometimes called Biscathorpe Hall, is a handsome manor house of stone. In 1913, it was the residence of William Rainey FIELDSEND and was the property of the late William WHITLAM.

and the Lincolnshire FHS has a list of newspaper extracts, one of which mentions Biscathorpe Hall:
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/lfhs/NewspaperExtracts/NewsNameIndex.htm

Name Index to Extracts from Lincolnshire newpapers c1750 - c1950
:
:
KIRKHAM Biscathorpe House, nr Louth 1st June 1872

the extract itself is also on the site:

Saturday 1st June 1872
A meeting of the friends of Mr Thomas KIRKHAM of Biscathorpe House, near Louth, the celebrated ram breeder, was held at Lincoln yesterday (Friday) week. when it was resolved to present that gentleman with a portrait of himself. A subscription has been entered into for carrying out the purpose. and when completed. will be presented as a token of esteem for the services he has rendered to agriculturalists in having so successfully devoted himself to the importance of the breed of Lincolnshire sheep, and as a testimonial of the regard in which he is held.

Hope this helps

Thank you Berlin-Bob,

This seems to be the only information i can find on this location , I am trying to find where one of my ancestors may have worked, she was a nurse maid before she had her first child out of wedlock in 1913, in the binbrook rural district so looks like more searching for me, thanks anyway.

Hi Pike,

The lady in question is Susannah maria Derry she shows upon the 1901 census, but i have no idea where she worked, she had a child out of wed lock in 1913, no idea who the father was so hoping the place where she worked may give a clue. But very unlikely, so trying to find where she may have worked.
