Re: Keturah Cowley
« Reply #27 on: Wednesday 20 February 13 19:14 GMT (UK) »
Yes it is indeed Keturah. She married John Balderson before 1841 and both of them died after 1871 when they are in the census with her niece Hannah Cowley. Keturah in fact died in 1876 aged 70.

Keturah's father John Cowley (1762-1846) was evidently still married to his first wife Catherine Kenning (who he married in 1784) at the the time Keturah was conceived with Sarah Pains. Even though Catherine died in October 1805, John did not marry Sarah Pains until March 1807.

Kind regards,
Jon

I stand corrected on the name Keturah (what an unusual name!). The baptism was sent to me by my cousin who paid someone to look at the records.
I'll change it in my records, thanks guys.

My line is from Martin Cowley and Esther Frost.

Their daughter Sarah Cowley married Mark Morris. They had 4 children (1 being my G Gran), then Sarah died.
Mark Morris then married Sarah's sister Hannah (aka Anna, Annie) and they had 4 kids also.

I'll get some dates posted in a while.
