Hi Deb.

Its so good that you are sticking with this !

It certainly seems that the Sturney's and Foyles are connected.

I did a ten minute search for those Fripps that I'm sure are connected somehow ... but when I found the link many months ago, I forgot to make a note of where I found it.   STUPID, stupid !!

I'm now into finding hymns and a short sermon for the nursing home tomorrow ... I'd forgotten it was me 'in charge' so to speak tomorrow !  (We take it in turns so sometimes I just attend but don't have to prepare anything in advance !)

I posted this yesterday when I was looking for george sturney , who was the grandson of Sarah.....

I can't find George Sturney in 1861 ...although, in 1871,  I have found  a George Sturney with wife Emma , 41 and children ... Mary 5 and Alice M  ...both born London. George is 33 (1838) , Blanford. they are living next to Thomas FOYLE and family
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Turns out that the Foyle Family next door is Thomas and Ann Foyle who had John Sturney with them in 1841 and Agnes Sturney with them in 1851.

1871:
east street
Thomas Foyle head mar 53 formerly a sawyer ..BLIND b Child Okeford
Ann wife 51 b Blandford St Mary
Mary Jane Travess/could be Travers niece 13, b Blandford

next door
George STURNEY head 33 lab b Blandford ...he fits with george the grandson ..altho' we don't know who his mum is!
Emma wife 41 b Blandford
Mary Ann 5 b LONDON
Alice M 3 .........."

deb

added ... Emma is older than George ...wonder why the girls born in London ... ummm are they even his ?  will look for marriage

George Sturmey 1868 Sep  ~  Cricklade  Wiltshire
Emma Richens 1868 Sep  ~  Cricklade  Wiltshire

this one may be better as the girls were born in London

George Sturmey 1868 Dec ~   Whitechapel  London, Middlesex
Emma Hicks 1868 Dec ~   Whitechapel

births ...
Alice Mary Sturmey 1868 Jun  ~  Wandsworth  , London, Surrey
BUT ...there is also this one

Alice Maud Hicks 1867 , Dec ~   Islington, Middlesex

what do you think ?

not sure who the children belong to ...could be Mr Hicks or our George  :-\

Um ... Deb ?   I'm totally lost now !

I thought Ann Sturney was the one who married Sam Trowbridge in 1843 ?  She died 1855, still m. to Sam ??

Where's Bramble ... I need this new stuff drawn out ...

... and I've sorted the hymns ... now, what to talk about ... family history would be a good one, but how to tie that in with Lent ... hmmm ... needs some thought !!

Back soon (or later) ...

here is Thomas Foyle and Ann's son's birth;

William Thomas Foyle 1838, Sep ~ Blandford  Dorset

so they had to have been married circa 1837 .... Cannot find it ....nothing on IGI either .... I was assuming Ann was a Sturney as John was there in 1841 ...  :-\

I'm having a crack at drawing it up, but am at a loss how to express some of it! I'll see what I can do...
