Hi fiona g
Yes you have the correct Agnes
Understand she had two boys before she got married & went to Canada.
Do you know anything of that side of family.
Also how do you make the connection to Heck?
Hope to hear from you again

Hi ruffus

The only Heck connection I have is William Richardson and Jean Bell being 2nd GG parents of your David b1880. On page 1 you will find our Richardson FT.

My connection is through your Davids brother James b1891 who was my Grandfather. My uncle (your Davids nephew)told me recently that he thought David b1880 may have died in Carlisle :-\ and another brother Samuel died in WW1 Battle of the Somme :-\
I would be interested learning from you about David marriage, death,  children anything you care to share also about Agnes.
Fiona

I believe Maggie Jane Richardson was born 24/7/1907 but do not know mothers name. Understand mother dumped child onto Granny Jane Muir Richardson at Lochside. Later there must have been an incident after 1924 when James's wife sorted everybody out & sent some on their way! :-X
Father David married Janet Johnstone 4/12/1908 @Half Morton and produced Elizabeth ,Agnes & James between 1909 &1912 and lived in Eskdalemuir, DMFS. David died at Crooks, Eskdalemuir and all family are at rest in Bentpath Cemetry.
As regards Agnes,I understand Jonnie was born 1902 @ Johnsfield & eventually married to live at Templand with wife and two sons who died early but have no other details except I am told he worked on Railway & may have died 1980ish in Nursing home at Lockerbie.
Meanwhile take the marriage 13/1/1911 of Agnes Little Richardson aged 28 to Adam Byers Rogerson at Lochmaben to be the same people who landed Quebec Ex Canadian Pacific liner Metagama with children John 15, David 13 & 3 year old Jean.
My Ruth has memories of Canadian troops calling at their house towards end WW2 but don't know how to investigate that side of the family story.

Hi ruffus

many thanks for so much info. My uncle was so wrong on Davids death being Carlisle and poss wrong with Samuels death WW1 Battle of the Somme ::).

I had a look on Find my past and could see Adam,Agnes and children went to Quebec in 1927. Did Adam die in Quebec ? saw his death date as 1957 on a web site no death date for Agnes though.

Although I cannot offer any new info on Agnes I could give you some details of her maternal Gparents & GG parents & step/siblings.

I wish you luck in your search for Agnes & would be interested in any new info on Agnes should you find any.

My uncles father was James (Agnes's bro& my grandparents)b1891 Dryfesdale died 1941 Lochmaben married Mary Jane Baird Tweedie 1922 Lochmaben they had 6children.

RE:  Agnes Little Richardson and Adam Byers Rogerson
Agnes Richardson was my grandmother.  In researching our family tree for an upcoming trip to Scotland this June, my husband just came upon this posting and we could not believe it.  I have been aware of my grandmothers 2 sons born before her marriage to Adam, but I did not have dates and exact names. From what I understand from my father (as told by his mother) these children were raised by Agnes'  parents John and Jane Richardson as their children.

Where do I begin.  Agnes did immigrate to Canada in May of 1928 with her husband  Adam, their two sons, John (my father) David, and their daughter Jean.  Adam's sister Janet, her husband, and three children came to Canada at the same time.  My grandparents settled in Baie Verte , New Brunswick.  Adam died on February 19, 1959.  Agnes died on the exact same date and hour, in the same room in their home, 16 years later, at the age of 93. (1975)   My father and his brother may have been the Canadian soldiers that visited in Scotland during WWII - I do know that they did that.  My father married a Dutch woman and she immigrated to Canada in 1946.  My parents lived with Agnes and Adam and maintained the family home after my grandparents died.  My father died in 2004 at the age of 93.

I have the extract of entry for birth for Agnes Little Richardson, Adam Byers Rogerson , and my father John Rogerson.  I also have the extract for entry of  marriage for John Richardson and Jane Douglas.  We were very confused with the "Falla" and "Douglas" entries on anything we have read.   The information we have read today makes us realize that Jane Falla is accurate and part of my family tree.  I do have pictures of James Richardson, his wife Mary Jane, and a child that is not named, taken in August 1924.  I also have a picture of Samuel Richardson. On the back of his picture it is written that  Samuel won a military medal at the battle of Mons.   Samuel died at the age of 24 with pneumonia.  I have an actual letter written to my grandmother in  January of 1922, expressing sympathy on Samuel's passing from a Mary D. Kelly of Lochmaben.     I also have a picture of Agnes's son John Richardson, when John was 85 years old.  It was sent to my father by a cousin.  I have a picture of a John Richardson and a lady (I can not make out her name but it ends in "fina" that I have no date on - and there is a boy with them who is named "Craig".    I also have a picture of Joseph F. Tweedie's headstone with four unidentified people in it.  I have a pictures that says John Richardsons' children and the children are named Bobbie and Minne.  I am not sure who they are or the date of this.

I hope this fills in the blanks for information on Agnes Little Richardson for all of those who have been posting.  I am very interested in the Maggie Jane Richardson story, but I am afraid that story was not passed down this family line. I would appreciate any information on this family line.

Hope this helps  -  Audrey

Peaches,

Just wanted to let you know that my uncle, Jack Tweedie passed away in October.  His wife Madeline passed the year before.  I know I am a little late in letting anyone know, but this is the first time I have worked on the line, and had forgotten about this thread.  How can I contact Philip Tweedie?
