thanks for that his occupation was ropemaker at the time of his marriage when he gave byker bar as residence,so he wouldnt have been working as a farm worker,so im wondering if he was living with family members on his grandmothers side who were farmers.something i will go look at now,and check he hasnt been put down as a different surname.i know in the 1851 census his brother and sister were staying with their grandmother elizabeth hackworth and both children were down as hackworth as well.

hi

thanks to everyone for their help on my search, i have now recieved the marriage licence but im afraid it gave no extra details that could help.ive also recieved nathaniel hall snrs will in the hope that he mentioned nathaniel his son! but again ive hit a wall he had 4 children but all his belongings went to his daughter and his house went to the grandson of his daughter,no mention of any of his other children,so where to now??? i was thinking the newspapers death notices,he died 7th may 1869.could anyone tell me what the newspaper around newcastle upon tyne would have been and where they are kept??

regards patricia

Hi Pat,
You could also look at
