Hello again,
In my previous posting I spoke of Henry PENMAN, christened in April, 1696 at Auchterderran in Fife. His parents were Robert PENMAN and Isobel BAXTER.
We find tht Henry married Christian Dryelly on the 11th June, 1737 at Dunfermline. Now, perhaps "Beans" can tell me if I'm wrong, but isn't Dunfermline part of the DRYLIE stronghold? Could this be "a phonetic thing" or merely a transcription error?
Christian Dryelly was born on the 7th July, 1717 in Auchterderran and was the daughter of John DRYELLY and Christian STEVENSON. Does this ring any bells, "Beans"? I would think that it's worth more than a passing glance.
Henry and Christian had the following children:
James Penman born 27th May, 1739 at Auchterderran, Fife.
David Penman born 21st June, 1741 at Auchterderran, Fife.
Robert Penman born 26th July, 1744 at Auchterderran, Fife.
Alexander Penman born 12th April, 1747 at Auchterderran, Fife.
Andrew Penman born 26th February, 1749 at Auchterderran, Fife.
Jean Penman born 26th November, 1752 at Auchterderran, Fife.
Gilbert Penman born 9th June, 1754 at Auchterderran, Fife.
Margaret Penman born 18th January, 1756 at Auchterderran, Fife.
John Penman born 28th May, 1758 at Auchterderran, Fife.
Betty Penman born 27th August, 1761 at Auchterderran, Fife.
Charles Penman born 20th March, 1763 at Auchterderran, Fife.
In my next posting I shall be taking a look at Robert Penman the brother of Henry Penman, both sons of Robert Penman and his wife Isobel Baxter.
Kind regards,
Tom.
