« on: Friday 15 February 08 09:58 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I am very interested in finding any interesting facts about Beaford . It appears that my husband's ancestors include the vast majority of residents in the nineteenth century  ;D
Our main names are DYMENT, FOLLAND, HEARD, NOTT these marry into many other families so if you have a Beaford Ancestor please ask I may be able to help and I am sure you will be able to help me too.
I have interest in the Gunsmiths and Blacksmiths and Publicans as well as pupil teachers and naturally Agricultural workers.

Hello Trees,

The Devon Libraries Local Studies Service appears to be a great place to start a search for some interesting facts about Beaford.  I did as the Library suggested on their website and used the place search on the main local studies section of their site. A paper titled "Beaford folk and their neighbours" which was read to the Women's Institute, Beaford on 5th October 1927 may produce some of the facts that you are seeking. www.devon.gov.uk/localstudies/100420/1.html
