there seems to be something strange going on here.
in 1881 edward senior is married to ann with son henry age 12.
in 1871 edward senior is married to jane with son henry age 2.
was ann his second wife and did jane die between 1871-1881

if this is the case then the last two posts are alright.
need to check if there is a death of a jane milburn between 1871-1881 reg.dist. tynemouth
and then a marriage of edward and ann between 1871-1881.

Well in 1891 as I posted, Jane was still there, married, head of household, so the 1881 could be a mistake with her name, Ann instead of Jane, her age and birthplaces are the same.

Hello Barbara thats good of you to check back, it looks like as you say a mistake in Jane`s name as put down in 1881 census as Ann.  I still need the 1861/51/41 if you can find them at any point when you have the time please.  Thanks ever so much. Much Appreciated. Regards Gladys :)

You may need to get Henry's birth certificate just to be sure, Gladys:
Dec 1868 MILBURN  Henry     Tynemouth  10b 223

To get further back with Edward you'll need his marriage cert I think, to find his father's name and occupation as there are a couple of candidates in 1861

Have you any idea of his parents' names?

There's this one, the address looks familiar, and his birthplace is ok, but it's guessing....what do you think?  :)

1861 RG9/3851 fol.32 p.17
Shank House No.3 Row, Cramlington
MILBURN
Henry head m 40 Coal Miner  Bellingham
Ann    wife   m 40                   North Sunderland
Edward son   17  Coal Miner  Holowill (probably means Holywell - Earsdon)
Isabela dau   15  Servant      Gosforth
Margaret "     13  Housemaid Ridsdale
Henry     son   9  Scholar        Broomhill
Elizabeth dau  7     "              Acklington
John       son   5      "              Bebside
Sarah     dau   3                     Cramlington
Robert    son   1                          "
William MOODY son 2                  "

They certainly moved around to have their children, and where did little William Moody come from with his different surname I wonder  ???
