HOOPER marriage lookup Exeter please

Hello

I am trying to find a marriage between James Hooper and a Elizabeth (surname unknown) in Exeter about 1816. The family are in the St Mary Major parish in the 1841 census. Elizabeth was living in and born in Plymouth in 1788 according to the census of 1851.  According to a friend of mine James Hooper was born in Linkinhorne. The 1841 census has him born in 1785.

I say about 1816 Exeter for the marriage as their first child Richard Hugill Hooper was born according to the 1841 census in 1817 Exeter. All their subsequent children were born in Exeter.

I am not sure whether this info will fit in with your family but it looks as if this James Hooper (IGI) was married several times - the last marriage was to Elizabeth Bradock in 1809 in Exeter

This James cannot be my one because my James Hooper was on the 1841 census and he had children with Elizabeth in the 1820's.

Interesting find though.

There seems to be a lot of Hoopers in Devon !
