alot there to keep me busy, there could be a link with portsmouth, as apparently hubert was an soldier based there at the time of his marriage to mary, i think mary originated from london but i maybe wrong.  Portsmouth  is also the birth place of my nan violet.

Sorry for posting names of people still alive, i should of read the rules before jumping straight in.
this is all very new to me as only been researching a few days.

I'm not 100% sure but comparing it to the Sussex above it think it looks like double s and the x looks similar, have added the page (correctly this time I hope! lol (sorry Newf and Arran!)

This is the ONLY birth I can see that fits Flo too, not in Sussex, so I think she's from Clapham, Surrey too....

managed to speak with my dad today and get some more dates hurbert fenn died around 1951 aged 63 so his birth year would be around 1889. And mary jane fenn nee long was born around 1899 and also died aged 63.
