Hi Elaine, thanks for the reply. Margaret has built up a family tree , she now plans to do more research in the New Year on her mums side (Sinclairs)

I was given some information from my uncle (in the USA) many years ago about my father's side (Owen), I have recently looked at the Census etc on Scotlands People and it would appear the infomation he gave may be inaccurate. It seems now that my great grandfather Robert Owen (Samuel in the pictures father) was born in Ireland around 1842 (according to the 1891 census), no mention of where, now I am confused.

Gets a grip this ancestry stuff but fascinating,
