John RAE Born Larkhall Scotland 1869

Hi,
Trying to find any information on John RAE who was born in Larkhall, Lanark.  SCOTLAND on 23rd Jan 1869. Parents Robert and Jane RAE.

Appears in the Scottish Census for 1881 and 1891 but is missing from the 1901.  Occupation in the 1891 Census is shipyard labourer.  Emmigrated to Canada sometime between 1891 and 1901.

Any information on him would be greatly appreciated

1901 and 1911 Canadian census online at www.automatedgenealogy.com. Be sure to vew both transcribed and scanned images (link on top of transcribed page to scanned image). Should be able to get year he went to Canada from that as well as other details.
Also try www.findmypast.com for him leaving U.K. (you can search index but have to pay to view actual details).

In case you haven't already seen it- there are 5 children for Robert Rae and Jane Browning listed in IGI (do parent search to see all of them).

Had a quick look through 1901 & 1911 and couldn't see him in Canada but I might have missed him there.
Are you sure he went to Canada? If so, do you know where he settled?

There is a John Rae age 33 in 1901 census in Govan, Scotland, marine fitter in household with James Rae 16 deck boy. Also a few other ones named John Rae the same age in 1901.

I found the two entries below that would be about the right age in Canada.  It's quite possible that he was still in Scotland for the 1901 Census. I found nothing in the 1901 Canadian Census.
