Jenty Stanley was daughter of James Staney & Unity Wells

Lets start again lol was in middle of writing 1st post and had phone call
I wouldn;t presume to say I am the only person in England who has Buckland  family history but I do think I have more than most and we were from Gypsy background
 Photos documents pasenger records Census etc  collected over many years

I am 5th generation Buckland from Tenet Buckland think that makes me his 5 x Grt grand child ?
Are you actually related to Buckland family or just doing research ?
either way would love to know what you have and can exchange info
Our Buckland family 1st went to USA in 1857 on SS Kangaroo
from liverpool to New York with many other known families
I have information about the Mark Buckland who you have posted
 We have 2 Marks in famliy which I know about
The Stanley family and Bryers are also my line the Riley famliy maybe connected to Coopers, but there is also another Riley family not connected

Its a huge family and hopefully more will contact us your site is amazing the Scavenger hunts especially I would like to thank everyone for their efforts its worth it  and also to say never give up hope of finding your famliies someone will show you the way and its so great when you do finally get something

Also just to let you know I have found more about my Smith family that would my Great Gran-mother;s side the lady picured who was wife of Nelson Buckland
So slowly family is coming together, but its getting bigger & bigger lol
Its great to get Photos of anything especially people
I have been sent several lately and now have faces to those I have researched it makes them more real and also to see family likeness is wonderful

Hi Bonnie and welcome to Rootschat..........I'm sure you'll be getting lots of PM's from Tiggi, Cathay and the girls regarding the Bucklands, they've made for a very interesting search.

Could you tell me what the sabre, what looks like horns and star mean on Mark Bucklands headstone.  A most unusual sign.

Many of the Romani (British) families that are here in the USA have similiar affiliations on their headstones.  I would say nearly half of the newer interments have some symbol to some fraternal organization (IOOF -Bryers, ELKS-Harrisons, etc).  I have not spent much time exploring the "reasons" for these affiliations.  The Shriners do some remarkable fundraising.  They also have a popular TRAVELING circus... that may hold some clue  as it would have been a source of employment for travelers?

I will be placing my website with cemetery pictures online by the end of July (hopefully).  I am not certain of the URL as yet... it is graphic intensive and I need lots of space so I am still pricing different web hosting providers (I need a good deal for my money so that I can put on all of the pictures in high definition so that people can actually enlarge the files to read all the inscriptions).

I am so delighted that I found this site!   Maybe I will receive fewer gray hairs now that there are others to share my frustrations!
