Seems improbable how they could have been brothers..

Why do you think they are not brothers?  Their ages were close and James' convict record states that his brother Charles had been transported on the Andromeda.

Sorry i missed the record where it says that they were brothers. Where can i find that?

In reply #4 wivenhoe has given the links to the two pages of James' convict indent.  It names his father as Isaac and brothers as William, John, Charles (transported), and Isaac.
