Has anyone done any resert on this man . He was born in Wokingham in 1835. Married to Sarah born in Stockport in 1845. Children were William 1868, Rose 1871, Charles H 1876 (my grandfather) Alice 1878 and Kate 1880.  Rose married Robert Arnold. Rose is my grandmother. In case you're wondering. My parents were first cousins. Arthur James Spratley and Ida Louise Arnold.

I have information as Arthur James Spratley and Ida Louise Sprtley nee Arnold were my maternal grandparents (which surprised me therefore when you mentioned they were your parents?!). Obviously would be most interested to talk...

Hello Claire and Aggie,

In case either of you still receive notifications for this thread I'm posting a reply here to try and get in touch. My grandmother was adopted and I'm tracing her biological parents. I believe her mother was Doris May Spratley 1915, grandfather was James Spratley 1881, and great grandfather was George Henry Spratley 1836.
