hi steve  that is also obviously not the right eupemia either as this james was born in 1823.       so somewhere out there is another euphemia married to james beveridge.    beans

Hi Beans

If James emigrated in 1869 then he should be traceable on the Scottish census records for 1841, 1851 and 1861. This would also show his wife and children, their ages and places of birth ( although they are not always accurate). There are quite a few James Beveridges in the 1841 census on Freecen. If any more is known about him, such as occupation, or the names of any other of his siblings that would help narrow it down.

Hi all
This, looks like beans' James and Euphemia in the 1851 Scotland Census ( I didn't search for a specific county, just for named parents with a son named Alex b abt 1846).

1851: Crossgates - Dunfermline, Fife
Head: James BEVERIDGE 37, Coal Miner, b Dunfer. Fife
Wife: Euphemia BEVERIDGE 35, b Dunfer. Fife
Son: Alexander BEVERIDGE 5, Scholar, b Aberdour Fife
Son: James BEVERIDGE 5 mths. b Dunfermline, Fife

Cheers

This looks like the BEVERIDGE's arrival into USA:

SHIP "Satira Morse"
Departed Glasgow
Arrived New York 15 Sep 1851
This Group has been bracketed together on the Manifest, indicating 1 family group travelling together.
All are listed as being from Scotland.

James BEVERAGE 38, Miner
Andrew BURT 34, Miner
Andrew BEVERAGE 25, Miner
David BURT 25, Miner
Euphemia BURT 36, Wife (I think this is probably Eupemia BEVERAGE, who has been dittoed as "BURT" in error)
Margaret BURT 33, Wife
Alexander BEVERAGE 5,
Agnes BURT 9
Isabella BURT 7,
Margaret BURT 5,
Peter BURT 10 months,
James BEVERAGE 8 months

Cheers
