Talk about people moving.......................
My parents moved into their present house in March 1960 when I was 13 months old, but that is nothing!
In about 1981, I found that a relation of mine owned land in my village in 1909 and it gave his address in Hull. As a hopeful sort of a person, I wrte to the address and put on the envelope (or nearest Post Office or Vicar) hoping that someone would pick it up and not get "returned to sender"
I got a reply back a few days later from this man's daughter (in her late 70's), who had been born in the house and lived there all her life till then. I met her and her husband a few months later and after her husband died, she moved to France with her daughter and son in law. I thought it was very strange, someone who had lived nearly 80 years in one house, moves to France to live.
When she passed away, she returned to Hull.
Staying in one place is not that unusual.
