Irvine, Dundonald--Aitken, Hunter, Cogle, Coghill
« on: Monday 25 February 08 01:18 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for the marriage of Thos Aitken, mariner, and Mary Hunter about 1800 in Dundonald or Ayr--or anywhere else, for that matter. Their daughter, Jean Aiken, b 1813, Irvine, Ayr married Robert Cogle in either Dundonald or Irvine in 1833. Have their banns and marriage registration.

I'm particularly interested in Robert Cogle--also spelled Cogill and Coghill--who died 1883 in the poor house of Irvine. Unfortunately, it was the superintendent who gave all the information on the death registration I doubt he has it straight.

Sotlands People and the IGI have nothing on the Airken/Hunter marriage and nothing on Robert Cogle's birth. Unfortunately, there are no witnesses or parents listed on the Aitken/Cogle marriage.
