Found Frederick - surname spelt Murrey Mar 1852 and as Harriet was single in 1851, the marriage still looks possible - there was one other for a Harriet Jones - Jun 1852 - but no possible husband on Freebdm

Hiya Gadget & Trish

Thanx for that information

It does look like the right Jones family in 1851. There is a baptism on the IGI of a Harriott Jones parents John and Mary 2.1.1820 Ruyton of the Eleven Towns Shropshire

I haven't come across anything so far to mention William is Harriotts child although Henry her son had the middle name of William

Harriott and John also had another child - Mary Elizabeth bap 9.1.81854 d 13.1.1854 from the IGI

That marriage for Jones/Munsy is looking like a good possibility

Given the Mary Elizabeth,  just wondering if the St Cyrus baptism might be yours then:

Quote from: Gadget
11 Feb 1827, St Cyrus, Kincardine Parents - David Murray and Elizabeth Ross

As I said, they were on the 1841, still in Kincardine - worth checking them on the 1851. Do you have access to the Scottish censuses?

Interestingly, the Dunnottar John Murray is still in Scotland on the 1851 - in prison - but the John Murray s/o David and Elizabeth, St Cyrus, 1826,  isn't.

So maybe it is this one.

Hiya Gadget

I think that is probably the right certificate so I will send off for it

Is there anywhere I can search the Scottish BMDs - they don't come up on Ancestry

Think I mentioned them on my first message Willow

www.scotlandsfamily.gov.uk

It's pay to view but cheap. I got the baptisms from there - cost me 20p  ;D

Ps - specify Harriet Jones rather than John if you're ordering the cert -they've likely got him wrong indexed on the main index.
