Peggy,

two spring to my mind:

1. Barton on Humber

2. Barton on Irwell  (Salford,  Lancashire)

O.K?

Sorry, Peggy - according to Lancashire BMD Nancy Knight married William Royle, at Eccles St Mary's (Eccles being part of the Barton registration district at this period)

Thanks all for your replies re Nancy Knight and Charles Parrott, guess I have to do some home work on this. I was hoping Barton might be in Herts or Beds.

Hi Peggy

There is a Barton le Clay in Bedfordshire. If you Google Barton le Clay you will find a web site with photographs.

Hi Peggy

You asked where is Barton, by clicking the Barton on the freebmd page where you found this entry it will take you to a link showing the area it covers....Barton upon Irwell in the case of Nancy, there is a link on that page giving the area covered.

Hi  There are villages called Barton all over the place - why not try the index to a road map & see if there's one near another place that's relevant to you research?
Good luck
