Hi Dawn

John Flint - here is a link to his Medal Index Card which you can download from TNA for £3.50 http://www.rootschat.com/links/02u6/

Ancestry is currently uploading the same records, but I could not see John's there.  If you get it, post it here and we'll see what we can make of it for you.

Hi Dawn

There is a dedicated forum for WW1:  http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/   I think you may have more success if you join and post there.

There are quite a number of KRRC experts on that forum.

Cheers

OK buried in Coventry, he could have been in hospital for months before die-ing from his wounds/illness.
The 4th KRRC left France for Salonika in November 1915 and went back to France, arriving on July 1918. 16th July 1918 joined the 151st Brigade of the 50th Division.
Unless his service record survives, had a quick look and could not find it, your only hope of finding out about him is from the Army Records Centre unfortunately, sorry.

On November 11 an armistice with Germany was signed in a railroad carriage at Compiegne - at 11 a.m. on November 11, 1918 - the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month - a ceasefire came into effect ........

But as your soldier died in March 1919 .... he must have died of wounds as Andy said ....

re john flint

John is buried i London Road cemetry. I have been to his grave and its a commonwealth grave. Its strange though as his grave isnt in the memorial part of the cemetry.
