Well it looks as thought his birth was not registered - nothing in the indexes.

Hi,
Now I will pop this in as it may or may not be on the right track.
Also buried at Terang Cemetery.

Catherine Gillies b. c. 1831. d. 1895 aged 64 died at Framlington. Wife of RONALD.
RONALD Gillies b. 1822. d. 1902 aged 80 died at Framlington. Husband of Catherine.
Now, I'm wondering is this a misprint from  a hard to read headstone or register entry and should be written DONALD?
The text associated with these cemetery listings comes supposedly from MI 's.

Now that we know there was a son to Catherine named Angus and he and wife Isabella  named a daughter Katie [reply #10 I think] and they are all interred in the same cemetery, I think we may have DONALD and Catherine.

Two in 1867 one for Catherine and one for Mary Ann and again in  1869 Roderick and Malcolm , in the same towns, with  other registrations between them;  therefore not likely to be twins and one had Catherine as the mother the other Isabella.

Perhaps sisters married cousins with the same name!!! Name varied between Gills, Gillis, Gillies Gilles.

Both couples seem to live in the same town at the same time!!! You will find it helpful to purhase the birth certificate of the youngest child of bothcouples. This should shed some light on the couples parents as well.
