Joseph 0'Melia

Hi I am searching details on Joseph O'Melia.
Joseph was born around 1810. On his son Daniel's marriage cert. in1876 his occupation is given as Tin Plate worker. The marriage was to Catherine Hogan and took place in St. Marys RC church in Halifax Yorkshire.
Daniel was born in 1853 and his birthplace in later census is given as Halifax.
We have been unable to confirm this.
In the 1881 English census Daniels wife Catherine with her two young daughters are listed as lodgers with her parents Thomas and Catherine Hogan, both parents are listed as being from Mayo.
In the same 1881 census there is a Daniel Melia born Halifax living in Ashton under Lyme with his two brothers Dominic and Edwin. Birthplace of brothers is listed as Ashton under Lyme. The O' prefix is missing. ???
In the same 1881 census there is a Joseph Melia Tin Plate worker, again no 'O prefix and his residence is the workhouse in Ashton under Lyme.
I wonder if anyone has come across O'Melia in Limerick at the period of the early 1800's. I understand that Achill, Mayo is where most of the O'Melias came from and I think that the Limerick connection is incorrect.
Has anyone got any views on this.
