DARGAVEL James b. 1816
« on: Saturday 01 March 08 08:54 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
I am searching for information on my ancestor James Dargavel, born 1816 in Dalton.   Son of James Dargavel and Jane or Jean Murdock, who were married May 28, 1815 in Troqueer, Kirkcudbright.  If you have read my previous posting on James Dargavel, please ignore, as I have discovered I was on the wrong trail!
Thank you!
Kathy

Hi Jean,
Thanks for the reply!  I don't think that is the one, I have just learned that my ancestor was born in Dalton.  He emigrated to Canada and married Mary Stevenson in 1862, which would have made him around 46 at the time.  I am thinking that possibly his first wife died in Scotland, he packed up and moved to the east coast of Canada?
