PHELAN - Enniscorthy - C19th
« on: Monday 03 March 08 09:49 GMT (UK) »
I'm seeking information on PATRICK PHELAN, whose daughter ANN (born c1846 Enniscorthy?) emigrated to London and married in 1867. She became the wife of ALFRED ALEXANDER COLLINS from Aylesbury, Bucks.
I have no information whatsoever about PATRICK PHELAN, his wife or children. Indeed, I do not know when / where ANN was baptised etc. It's all a frustrating mystery!
However, it was noted on ANN's 1867 marriage certificate that her father PATRICK PHELAN was 'deceased'. Whether he had died in Co. Wexford or had emigrated to England is unknown.
Can anyone help with this conundrum? I'd really apprecaite any help.
Happy hunting!

Have you tried looking for Ann & father Patrick in 1861 census in England? If Ann went to England when she was young she might be living with her family there at the time of that census.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thank you for that suggestion but it would appear (given the fact that neither Patrick nor Ann are recorded on the 1861 census) that Ann came to England between 1861 - 1867.

Over the years I have exhausted my research of her in England and need to somehow learn about her life in Ireland...her birth, parents, siblings etc.

Any other suggestions will be grateully received.
