My WHITE family tree starts with Mary VIPOND marrying Samuel WHITE in Garrigill on October 20, 1699.  Does anyone have any information on her parents, siblings, birth/christening or any other aspect of her life and/or family ?   Would be delighted to share information.   Ian in Canada.

Hello Ian. Not exactly what you wanted but this Garrigill gravestone inscription probably connects to you family:-

Sacred to the memory of Robert White of Highplains, who died the 20th September 1823 aged 48 years.
Also of Jane his wife, who died at Blea?  Gate 6th October 1832 aged 51 years.

Hello Adam, Mary and pdudgeon,  Many many thanks to Adam, Mary and pdudgeon for answers and questions which were of considerable help to me.
I have just found this web site and it is full of terrific people.  I wish I had known about it a few years ago !!
My only hope is that I can reciprocate a bit of the help being received.
Cheers, Ian.
