Wisbech lookup
« on: Monday 10 March 08 23:28 GMT (UK) »
Would appreciate a lookup for the following baptisms in Wisbech for the following:

John BERRY - born about 1756
Samuel BERRY - born about 1760
William BERRY - born about the same era
Joseph BERRY - born about the same time
Sarah BERRY - again born about the same time

These births would probably be in the Church of England.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Syb :) :) :)

Wisbech is not the easiest place in Cambs to research.

There were two parishes in the period you are looking for - St Mary's registers are only available at Wisbech Museum - see http://www.wisbech-town.co.uk/family.htm, and they have a per hour charge for researchers. St Peters parish register appears to have been filmed by the LDS so is available to order and view at your nearest LDS Family History Centre, as well as at Wisbech Museum.

Hello Syb

You cold also ask on this web site, someone on there might be able to help you.

http://wisbech.14.forumer.com/index.php

The Wisbech Museum charge £5 per hour for you to do lookups, and you have to book in advance.

Hello

The Berry family you are searching for are actual from Christchurch - which was in the parish of Upwell. I have just done a fair bit of research as we have just bought their family home.

Hope that is of some help if you are still searching.
