Did you manage to go to the Penrith library? And were you able to find a copy of "Cookson of Penrith, Cumberland and Newcastle upon Tyne" ?  If so could you share the information you got from it with me?

Sorry Michelle.  I did not get to Penrith on that visit and am not likely to be going again in the near future.     penrith.library AT cumbriacc DOT gov DOT uk  is their email if you want to contact them direct.
