Proudleys of Cowden Kent

I am looking for details about James Proudley and his family who was a Farmer, I think in Cowden, Kent.  His daughter, Jane (born in 1817) was my direct ancestor.  I have just received her wedding certificate to George Frederick Howard who she married in London.  I also ordered an incorrect death certificate for her (Islington 1867) which was unfortunate.
According to the 1841 Census Jane was born in Cowden, Kent 1817 - her father was James, witness on her wedding certificate was Susanna Proudley who could either be her mother or sister.

I can't see many PROUDLEYS in Kent. 

Did find a settlement examination dated 11th March 1820 for a James EDWARDS (and his wife Susan PROUDLEY) living in Chiddingstone but born Cowden which may be of interest.

also -  31 Mar 1821 Mary DRAPPER, unmarried (son Thomas, aged 0, by John PROUDLY) living in Leigh but residing Cowden, parish of legal settlemnet Edenbridge.

Cowden baptisms up to 1812 are on the IGI.. It lists just one PROUDLY baptism - James son of James and Susannah 3 Mar 1811

Later Cowden baptisms are on the BVRI 2 if you can get access.

Thank you, what is the BVRI 2?  Apart from checking census returns and ordering certificates I am relatively new to all these kind of things.

The BVRI stands for the British Isles Vital Record Index.  It is a CD set published and sold by the LDS.  It's just like the IGI.

Looking at the IGI, there were a James & Susanna PROUDLEY having children baptised in:

Cowden Kent 1811-1816
Ockley Surrey 1821
Slinfold Sussex 1826-1834

Thats interesting.  Jane Proudley, was born in Cowden, Kent 1817 (daughter of James and Susanna), she did marry a George Frederick Howard who was baptized in Bramley, Surrey in 1822 although his parents lived in Rudgwick, Sussex.  George and Jane married in Pimlico. 
Perhaps the Proudleys moved to Surrey and that is how Jane met George.  My geography of this area is very limited.

This also has to be a coincidence, but the granddaughter of Jane Proudley and George Howard, Rosina Howard, married a Charles Langley (my Gt Grandfather), but that was all in London.  Interesting to see the surname Langley amongst this.
