Book of Commemoration 1919
« on: Saturday 15 March 08 18:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi All

Went to the Family History Fair in Northampton and by chance just as I was leaving
noticed a book called

"This is to Commemorate Our Empires Part in the Glorious Peace".

I could not look at it as it was in a plastic sleeve but thought I would buy it anyway.

I am so glad I did.  :)

On the inside pages it says.

Peace Celebrations
July 19th 1919

Contents include pictues of the King and Queen , 56, War Celebrities, Route of
Procession & Programme etc.

It is a bit tattered but who cares.

Brilliant.

Sandy

You jammy so and so!

Was this at the Saxon then or the Westone??

I totally missed this...I was thinking of coming up this weekend, but only have the authority and a clearance chit from SWMBO for next weekend (come and see us at the new museum at Sywell!!)

Bet there were loads of really good Northamptonshire Regt books... :'( :'( :'( :'(
One more charge and then be dumb,
When the forts of Folly fall,
May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.

Hi Scrimnet.  :)

It was at the Latter Day Saints at Harlestone Road.

Might just come over Sywell Way.  :)

No there were not any other books on Northants Regt  :'( :'( :'( so don't cry :)

This was someone selling lots of old books and the one I brought stood out for me.
