I'm trying to be optomistic and that after the holidays I will hear from them.

Signed up for free trial on Friday but still no word back- perhaps something to do with being closed over Easter holidays?

Got a reply straight away.

Try registering again, perhaps with a different email address, or you could check the spam folder of your previous attempt in case it has gone there.

Tried the original link again and it came up without any problem! but a completely different page than I got on Friday. Short time later I got e-mail with password, etc. so will go check as much as I can while it's still working.

I have whiled away the Easter break on this site and shall go back to work with sore eyes and an aching hand.

I did find a report on a theft from  my great grandfather of five pairs of boots.  I also trawled through my husbands surname and found a murderer.

Well worth a look so thanks very much for the link.

This has just been posted on another site.

There is a free trial being offered on the Gale site at present.
Go to -
http://access.gale.com/gdctrial/
and register.
I just put "None" in the 'Institution' fields and it worked.

I don't know whether to thank you, or just grumble when the alarm goes off in the morning. It's nearly 12,30am and I should be in bed - but I'm sitting here mesmerised by what is on this site. I followed your instructions and have been there for the past 5 hours!!
   Thanks for the experience,
       Cheers, Pat

I have tried this and it worked. ;D ;D

Caroles back on the trail.  ;D ;D ;D

Carole's now exhausted!  ;D - having spent most of Easter on the various sites - the one on C18th publications has been especially useful. It's not only the OH's family, I've also been trawling for background info for lots of people who feature in the Diary of Parson James Woodforde, it's been a real goldmine and I'd be more than happy to subscribe.
