Tower/ Wilson Berwick
« on: Sunday 16 March 08 17:07 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to establish if there is a connection between the names Wilson and Tower in Berwick on Tweed.  My cousin was given the name Tower as a middle name believing it to have a connection with her maternal Grandfather's family the Wilsons. Her grandfather was Adam Gladstone Wilson B. c 1899 Berwick on Tweed.
Hoping the puzzle can be solved.
Many thanks   Heather

I have most of  this info. Thanks, but can not find any links to the Tower side of things, it appears to be a mystery. I have been told the Tower/wilsons were quite affluent and lived in a big house around Berwick
Cheers Heather

Ok, to be able to work backwards/forwards to find a Tower connection we will need this info, I'm just working systematically through it all, then hopefully we'll find a Tower.  Can you give any further information to save me (and others looking it all up again!)  :)

The more info you can provide us with then it will save time and hopefully we'll find the Tower connection quicker!  :)

Right ho!  :)

So this is them in 1861

Blakewell Road, Tweedmouth

Josh Wilson Jn, head, 23, Iron Foundries Clerk
Mary Wilson wife, 23
Elizabeth F Wilson, daughter, 2
Phillis L Wilson, daughter, 1 month

Josh is actually Jos with a h superscript to the Jos, which is usually short for Joseph

There are a few possible marriage in Northumberland between Mary being 17 and the first child being born but none are in Berwick, and many have a spouse missing on FreeBMD
