Hi Heather
Can you give us the census reference?    One way towards the marriage would be to get a birth certificate for a child as that will give the mother's maiden name.

Hello
In the 1861census
Josh wilson jnr. b c 1838 Head
Mary Wilson b.c 1838
Phillis L  Wilson daughter
Elizh F Wilson.daughter.    The F is for Fenwick  so perhaps Mary was a Fenwick.  I still can't find a marriage
Many thanks  Heather

Andrea, please see http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,292757.msg1753641.html#msg1753641 for the 1861 entry.

Heather, if you got the birth certificate for Elizabeth F Wilson, daughter, 2 or
Phillis L Wilson, daughter, 1 month in 1861 you would find out their mother's maiden name, as Andrea suggests.

Elizabeth Fenwick Wilson, born 3rd quarter 1859, Berwick 10b 297.
Phillis Landles Wilson, born 2 quarter 1861, Berwick 10b 332

Jennifer

Have you looked in Scotland?    They are very close to the border.  With all these lovely middle names it should be easy!
