Mary Ann Daniel death date needed.

 I have hit a brick wall...this time with the death of Mary Ann Daniel.

I have sent for 3 death certificates...none of them being the right one.
ann was born Ann Rinder in1830, I have her up to the 1861 census, in Finsbury London

These are the certificates i have sent for

Mile End 1c/364
               1c/141
St giles    1b/263

Luckily I paid £7 for the first one, then I asked for a ref check for the others which cost me £3 each.

Can anyone come up with a death date for Mary Ann Daniel

Have you evidence that  she died  do you have her husband down as widower on the 1871 census.

No I do not have any evidence that she died. In 1871 Robert is living as a boarder in West ham, with a Priscilla Albon and daughter Edith P Albon, who is also Roberts daughter. (they go on to have 3 more daughters.)I have not seen actual census so no mention of marital status in my information.

In 1881 he is on the census as a widow, they now have 4 daughters with the surname Albon
Ada
Edith
Roberta
Florence
And 2 daughters with the surname Daniel
Violet born 1864
Lily born 1866
This is why I am trying to establish when Mary Ann died...trying to establish who the mother of Lily and Violet is.

I have had a lot of help trying to find birth certificates for Lily and Vilet with no luck, so the next thing was to try to find out when Mary Ann died..I thought that would have been quite simple...not!!!

Firstt we need to establish what Roberts status was in 1871, do you have the reference as I cant seem to find them on Ancestry.


If you cannot find a death between 1866 and 1871 it would appear to me that Robert had left  Mary Ann especially as he had another child with Priscilla on the 1871

We need to view the 71 for ages etc.

   Robert finally marries Priscilla Albon  Chorlton 1890 q4......so in theory Mary could have left him and still be around even up to then.

I saw the Bury St Edmunds entry but assumed from the post that Robert, Priscilla and the children were all living together 

Can you find Robert and Priscilla in 1871 I cant

Thanks Tazzie, I have that, I have all the information about the families whereabouts right up to Roberts death, but no where can anyone find any record of the births of Violet and Lily,even if I find out when Mary ann died, it would not confirm who their mother was, but at least it would eliminate her.

This is the only census where Edith is called Daniel, all the rest she is called Albon until 1890.

Tazzie  I do not think so..the only daughter Robert and Mary Ann had (Elizabeth lloyd Daniel went back to Yorkshire in 1861 aged 9 and her Aunt Mary (roberts sister brought her up...why would she do that if Mary Ann was still alive??
