McCOMBS marriage
« on: Wednesday 19 March 08 16:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

could anyone help me find the marriage of James McCombs (1821- ) to Isabel 'Unknown' (1822- ) in Derry around 1841?

Thanks

Ed.

1841 is before civil registration so you'll need to search for church records for a marraige around that date (if the records still exist). To do so you need to know their religion and where they lived (bearing in mind marriages usually but not always took place in the bride's church).

Ok thanks,

I believe they were catholic, and may have lived in the Maghera area, but not sure..

Cheers Ed

Termoneeny is next parish to Maghera. Banagher, Cumber, Kildollagh and Clondermot aren't anywhere near Maghera.

The James McComb in Knocknakielt had a house only.

Ed,

The earliest Catholic records for Maghera and Killylough, part Termoneeny date from 1841. www.rootsweb.com/~nirldy2/Records/derryrc.html
