Robert Tower Robertson Wilson c1835

looking for the parents of Robert Tower Robertson Wilson c 1835 Tweedmouth, Berwick.
I think his father was called Joseph  born scotland and his mother Phillis born berwick. I have his siblings. His wife was called Jane. They went to Australia quite soon after they were married and had 4 children born there. Robert appears back in Berwick in the 1881 census with his children.
Can anyone give me any more details?

If he was back in Scotland - can you find his death entry, as this would give his parents' names.

1851 census gives his father as Joseph Wilson 51 Master iron founder born Scotland. his mother Phillis 49 born Berwick upon Tweed. Himself under his initials RTR as aged 16 an assistant clerk. All the children are born Tweedmouth but the family is not immediately visible in the 1841 census. I would guess the Tower Robertson indicates a special sponsor to his baptism since all other five children have single given names.

Joseph Wilson, clerk at the Foundry, Tweedmouth.

Bapt 6 May 1838 (b.1 Apr 1838) Joseph Wilson, 7th child, 4th son of Joseph Wilson, clerk at Tweedmouth Foundry, , and his wife Phyllis.

Bapt 23 Aug 1840 (b. 13 Jul 1840) Phillis Landles Wilson, 8th child, 4th dtr of Joseph Wilson, Clerk in Tweedmouth, and Phillis his wife.

The surname Landles/Landells appears frequently in Berwick church records

..including an affidavit by James Landles declaring and listing his twelve children with dobs, by his wife Margaret ( from 21 Oct 1783 to 5 Oct 1803)
lodged with vicar John Rumney ( but unfortunately no Phyllis)


A short walk across a bridge, over the River Tweed,  would have taken the Wilsons from Tweedmouth to Berwick, and back.
