Hi
Thanks to you both for helping in the search of my GGGrandfather's DOD. My GGGrandmother died at Waddell Place so it is 100% that is the right person.

I do have some of their children which are Maggie, Euphemia, John, Andrew which I have his DOB and his birth certificate was altered, he was named Matthew, but when you do a search for a Andrew it shows on the top of the certificate a Andrew born July 10 1862.

Thanks once again for you help.

Ann

Hi
I have found Walter and Thomas on the 1881 census, so that is another branch to my tree.

Once again, thanks.

Hi Ann,

The record on the IGI is a submitted one. I suspect the ages have came from the marriage certificates and as I'm sure you know, people weren't too truthful with their ages! ;)

Euphemia shows with parents in 1861 aged 7, giving an approximate year of birth as 1854. She may have been born just before official registration! :( Here's the census entry I found:

Address: Long Yester, Yester, East Lothian
John Heriot, m, head, 39, ploughman, Salton, Haddingtonshire
Ann ", f, wife, 40, ploughman's wife, Salton, Haddingtonshire
Thomas ", m, son, 13, ag. lab, Bolton, Haddingtonshire
Walter ", m, son, 11, -, Bolton, Haddingtonshire
Agnes ", f, dau., 9, scholar, Garvald, Haddingtonshire
Euphemia ", f, dau., 7, -, Yester, Haddingtonshire
Margaret ", f, dau., 4, -, Yester, Haddingtonshire
John ", m, son, 1, -, Yester, Haddingtonshire

Thanks for the 1861 census. I have John born 1826 and Ann born 1821 but the census shows their ages are so different.
