1841 - Beaumont - North Scarle or Girton
« on: Thursday 13 January 05 02:28 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

Following through research from previous posts could I please have a look-up for the following people in the 1841 census.
Robert died a few years later under North Scarle.  I know this is in Lincolnshire but the records for all the familes fluctuate between Spalford, Girton, North Clifton and North Scarle and Eagle (all I believe to be within miles of each other but in two counties).

I can send this to the Lincolnshire board if preferred.

Robert Beaumont  68 HEAD born Eagle?
(dies North Scarle 29/06/1846)
Elizabeth Beaumont 68 WIFE born North Scarle?
(dies Girton 7/06/1862)

Thanks,
Jola

Hi Jola,
I had a look at the 1841 Lincs for you and I think these may be yours in North Scarle (remember ages are rounded down to the nearest 5 years). Afraid it doesn't tell you much! Also including a couple of Beaumonts I found in neighbouring villages.

Hi Heather,

Yep I'm fairly sure they are mine too...thanks.

Plus it does tell me more than you would think.

My William Beaumont born Spalford (living Yorkshire) lists his father as Thomas Beaumont Wheelright on his marriage certificate. Problem is that the one I am 99% sure is Thomas always says he is a carpenter in the censuses (close but not perfect).  I think Thomas' father is Robert and with him being a wheelright it gives me hope I'm on the right track.

Circumstantial evidence at best I know but sometimes its better than nothing.

Also quick question.  If I need to supplement IGI marriage or death details for North Scarle or Eagle in the 1700s should I request them here or the Lincolnshire mail list.

Jola

Hi again, glad I could help.

I should take your North Scarle/Eagle queries to the Lincs board where you're more likely to find someone lurking with knowledge of the area :)

I do sympathise though ...I have several families on the Notts/Lincs border myself!
