How do I Find Robert Wager and Family ?

Hello Folks
Trying to find out about this specific family,
Robert Wager, born 24/9/20 (? England although I've yet to find record).
Appears to have been in the Navy at one point.
Married to Elaine Aird, sometime in the 1940's in Glasgow?.
She was born in 1925 in Glasgow (sister Margaret and brother Archibald)

They lived in Durham in late 40's early 50's before then living in Northumberland from mid 50's till 1960 when they emigrated to Australia on the SS Strathmore with their 4 kids, leaving from Tilbury.

Apart from going to Edinburgh to find marriage cert, does anyone have any ideas on how I can find out more on this family?
I'll be putting seperate post in Australian section of Roots

Thanks for quick reply.
Unfortunately I don't know much about him yet, ie, parents, sorry.

My info is limited to his wife's background at the moment.
Any ideas on how to check into Naval records?

I honestly don't think I've enough info for this task !

Have you put a request with what you know on the military board, they'll know more about where to search military records than me.

Also if they got married in Scotland, put a request on the Scotland board, because I'm not sure about research there. You may be able to get details of the marriage from the scotlandspeople website, but not sure..... I believe their certificates are a lot more detailed than English ones though, showing both sets of parents names so that should be a big help
