That's fantastic  Wayne....what a lucky break you read the posting & are going to visit Todd's grandmother...couldn't ask for more.

Hartleys originally came from Okain's Bay Banks Peninsula...wonder if the Hartley connection may have been a sister of one of the wives??  Wish I could give you more to go on Wayne.

Waiting to hear back from you in eager anticipation as all my aunts & uncles have passed away who would have known.

Sorry to tell you there is no connection to  the BLACKADDER's & HARTLEY or MOORE families of Okains Bay.
Todd's grandmother will be asking the Reefton branch of the BLACKADDERS to confirm there is no connection.

Do you have some first names this would help narrow the search.

Wayne thank you so much for asking Todd's grandmother & please than her on my behalf for trying to confirm there is no connection with Hartleys or Moores.

I know where the gentleman & his wife live/lived in Lincoln but can't remember his surname.  He knew my mother & family formerly from Okains & was the one who told me some years ago.
In the meantime, will try & get in touch with him if he's still with us.  Like to see it through.  Obviously not a direct line. Might only be very distantly perhaps.

Even remember telling my two young grandsons at the time  who love football, about Todd being connected to them...that too was sometime ago.

Hello again Wayne,

Called into see the gentleman and his wife on my way home from Christchurch today.  Will learn more details from him in the next few days, as unfortunately I could only stay a few minutes & he is ringinng someone who should know more.

Apparently it was Dawn HARTLEY who married an Ivan Humm born Wainui Banks Peninsula.  They later moved north of Christchurch but had two daughters, one of whom married a BlACKADDER.

Will get back to you when my friend from Lincoln let's me know the daughter's name. 

Seems as tho' we'll get there in the end.

Have been in contact with Todd's grandmother and you are related to Todd.

Todd's father is Ross BLACKADDER who married Carolyn HUMM d/o Ivan & Dawn (nee HARTLEY) married 1941 folio 4627
they are divorced possable 1975 see archways for details.

hello again Wayne.   Through your kind help my mystery is solved.

Felt sure I would never have mentioned the fact of Todd being related

to my grandsons if I had been in any doubt  The gentleman

at Lincoln, I mentioned in an earlier  post, had, at different times (4yrs ago), talked with me about

events & names around Banks Peninsula, some of which I had also been informed abt  from reles.

 Please would you again convey my

 thankyous to Todd's grandmother & tell her she has filled in a part of my family tree I may never

have learnt more about.

You have been great Wayne....so glad you saw my earlier posting.
