Well done for finding Thomas's burial date, pity the Registrar did not log the age of the deceased in those days.
It proves your theory that Lydia must have re-married and Elizabeth took both surnames.
There is a marriage for a Thomas Mantle on the 25/10/1797 at Marylebone but to a Elizabeth Clarke, perhaps Lydia was her middle name.
