Hello Stonechat,

I have lived in Llandudno in the past and though Albany House rings a bell, I cannot place where in the town I remember it from.

I would suggest a post on The Three Towns Forum, Llandudno being one of these towns. http://threetownsforum.co.uk/

There is a Matilda Stanley in Llandudno in the 1901 census. She is shown as born Great Bridge, Warwickshire, aged 35 and at 7 Bryn Gwynt Terrace. The household is headed by William Arch.

Jo

Hi Stonechat

I was wondering if you ever found if the Matilda Stanley found by Jo was your Martha? I am tracing the Arch family and have been trying to find out if she was related to them or just visiting. In the 1891 census they had been living in Tipton so she may have been a neighbour.

No Martha Pierce Douglas was born 31st July 1858, in Egham and Baptised 28th Sept 1858 also Egham

She died 12th jul 1900, so was only aged 41 at death.
Her late husband was 12 years older (she was his third wife)

Probate was by James Douglas her oldest surving sibling, who was living in Torquay, and aged 63.

So Matilda is not Martha.

Also Leamington Spa Courier 21st July 1900

Deaths ...

STANLEY- On the 12th July, at Llandudno, Martha Pierce, widow of John Edward Stanley, of the Crown Hotel, Leamington, and King's Head, Wellesbourne, aged 41.
