Is this a clue?
« on: Monday 24 March 08 21:46 GMT (UK) »
My husbands g grandfather was called Henry Anson Graham (sometimes Hanson) he was born in 1860 in Gainsborough.  We believe he was illegitimate .  On his marriage certificate  the name Hanson was put in fathers name and surname and then a line put through it! Rank and profession of father I cannot read that too has a line through it! I wonder if Henry knew who his father was and did his mother put a clue in his name Hanson (Anson) any help or advice would be most welcome.

Kind regards
Susan

Hi Susan

Quote
We believe he was illegitimate

This suggests you don't have his birth cert
