Hi Lonk,
I had a look at the 1871 census for Nottinghamshire for you, but couldn't find him.
Also looked on the Notts. baptism CD and couldn't find his birth listed c 1801 +- 5years.
The only Robert White listed is Nottingham St.Mary (4.3.1801 - parents John and Mary).
There are two others baptised in 1793 - one in Basford, and the other in Hucknall.
Do you have other information, from any other source, that might help us track him down for you.
Kind regards,
Paulene.

HI PAULINE
 THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY

I HAVE HIS BAPTISM IN CLAYWORTH IN 1797  ALSO HAVE HIM ON THE 41 51 AND 1861 CENSUS IN MISTERTON
HE ALSO WENT UNDER THE NAME OF ROBERT LANE  UNTIL THE 1861 CENSUS WHEN HE REVERTED BACK TO WHITE
HIS PARENTS DID NOT MARRY ( LOOK'S LIKE HIS MOTHER BROUGHT UP HER SISTERS CHILDREN AFTER SHE DIED AND HAD CHILDREN TO HER SISTERS HUSBAND AND THEY COULD NOT MARRY  THE LAW  FOR MARRYING YOUR WIFES SISTER DID NOT CHANGE UNTIL THE EARLY 1900S)
HE HAD HIS FIRST CHILD IN CLAYWORTH THEN MOVED TO MISTERTON AND HAD ANOTHER 13 CHILDREN
HAVE FOUND HIS FIRST WIFES DEATH AND ALSO HIS SECOND WIFE SHE DIED IN 1866 IN MISTERTON BUT NO SIGN OF HIS DEATH ANYWHERE . HE MAY HAVE GONE TO LIVE WITH ONE OF HIS CHILDREN WHO SCATTERED ALL OVER. I  WAS TRYING TO ELIMINATE HIM STILL BEING ALIVE IN THE 1871 CENSUS .

I WILL BUY HIS SECOND WIFES DEATH CERTIFICATE TO SEE IF SHE WAS A WIDOW OR IF HE REGISTERED THE DEATH  TO CUT DOWN THE YTEARS TO SEARCH

THANKS AGAIN FOR THE REPLY

He is on 1861 RG9; Piece: 2407; Folio: 26; Page: 13 - which you presumably have. I can't see him though on 1871.
