« on: Friday 28 March 08 23:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me find out more information about a man whos medal (possibly medals) that I found in my garage.

All the information I have on him is that he was a J J Clifford and that he served in the Royal Army Medical Corps and was awarded the 'Victory Medal' for 1914 - 1919

I know this information because it is enscribed onto the medal.

Hi you can use this to find and download his Medal Index Card it COULD give more info then when you have his number..Engraved on medal too you could see if his record is online at Ancestry.

By accident I put J J Collins, when his surname was Clifford. I will search on that website though, thankyou.

And is the regiment number the one before it says PTE JJ Clifford ?

If so then that website has him as a J W Clifford, whereas on the medal it says J J Clifford.

Yes his regiment number is 1985.

Now I am a little confused as to why on the medal it has him as J J Clifford, but in the records it has him as J W Clifford.
