Can anyone help identify the uniforms the gentlemen are wearing in this photograph.

The gentleman on the right is called Francis BREW and was, in the 1920's, a, Chief of Police in Gibraltar, but I am sure he was part of the police force for many years before then.

Thanks for any help.

Sarah

The photo's tiny at the moment so impossible to make out the details.

But I see cap and collar badges for the chap on the left.
Medals (and collar badge?) for the chap on the right.

All these details might be identifiable with high resolution, larger scale scans.
I'd suggest just head & shoulders type scans for each man would be ideal.

Chap on right looks like to have a Glengarry on his head, without a Scottish tunic...another pointer to 1880s - ish  ;)

Come on you lot the two medals look like the Egyptian Medal (1882-89) & Khedive's Egyptian Star (1882-1891).

You can only be issue the Khedive's Star if you had the Egyptian Medal, so the medals are the two above.

You could ask someone to have a look on the Egyptian Medal Roll.
